The flooring renovation process has many moving pieces, and we're here to help make it as easy as possible. Find the answers to some of our most commonly-asked questions here about the process.

Getting Started

  1. I'm thinking about getting new floors. What should I consider when picking out your flooring? 

    Start by thinking about what your needs are for the flooring you are looking to have installed.  Which of these are most important for this space? Color, cost, durability, speed of installation, waterproof, petproof, warranty, luxury, and comfort are common priorities for people. Let your salesperson know what's important for this space, and he can point you in the right direction. 
     
  2. How do I know what flooring options will look good in my home? 

    Use our room visualizer tool to preview any of our flooring options in your own home. Upload a photo of your room and try out any of our products.  You may also want to check out some flooring samples or have our measureman take samples to you to see how they look and feel in your home, with your lighting. 
     
  3. What will my new floors cost?

    First we need to get accurate measurements of the area to be done. Call us today to schedule your free in-home estimate. This ensures we get exactly what you need for the space and your flooring options, including subfloor considerations, transitions, trims, etc. Even if you're not sure you're ready to get new floors, we will keep your measurements on file for when you are ready. 
     
  4. I need new flooring FAST. How can you help me? 

    Unlike our competitors, we have a large warehouse and keep many products in-stock. We stock dozens of carpet styles and luxury vinyl plank styles so you can install them very quickly. By stocking items, we are also able to pass along the savings to you. We also have hundreds of carpet and vinyl remnants that are available for immediate installation. Whether you're flipping or selling a house, preparing your house for holiday gatherings, or have a furniture delivery already scheduled, Karen's Carpetmax has your floors covered. 

 

Pre-Installation

 

  1. How do I prepare for the installation? 

    The room needs to be emptied out as much as possible. Pick everything up off of the floor, move out any furniture that you can, and our installers will move the larger pieces. Move anything fragile, expensive, or electronic yourself. Unplug any electronics. Empty any drawers of furniture to be moved.  If you have any questions about your specific situation and what needs to be done beforehand, please call us. 
     

 

After the Installation

 

  1. My floors need some repairs. What do I need to do?  

    Please call us at 810-230-0580 or text us at 810-373-5886 to schedule an inspection. You can text pictures of the problem areas to us at 810-373-5886.  Once inspected, we will determine the repairs needed, consider the warranties of your floors, and provide you with a quote for the repairs.  Many repairs are covered by warranty and will be free of charge. 
     
  2. How do I care for my floors? 

    Please call us at 810-230-0580, text us at 810-373-5886, or email us at mail@karenscarpetmax.com for care and maintenance information for your specific products. In general, only use pH-neutral cleaning products and only use vacuums recommended by The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI)
